Day 21
January 23
Psalm 119:161-176 (NLT)
“Powerful people harass me without cause, but my heart trembles only at your word. 162 I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure. 163 I hate and abhor all falsehood, but I love your instructions. 164 I will praise you seven times a day because all your regulations are just. 165 Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble. 166 I long for your rescue, Lord, so I have obeyed your commands. 167 I have obeyed your laws, for I love them very much. 168 Yes, I obey your commandments and laws because you know everything I do.”
In reading this section of Psalm 119, I really want to highlight verse 162: “I rejoice in your Word like one who discovers a great treasure.”
Do you interact with God’s Word in THAT way? The Bible IS a GREAT TREASURE! There is SO MUCH WISDOM in the Bible. SO much great instruction. So much direction on how to live and how to walk and how to experience His grace and mercy in your life and His fruit which He wants to flow out of your life. What would happen in your life in 2024…IF you treated God’s Word as a TREASURE and you SEARCHED it for the gold? Perhaps you would have the result that the Psalmist says in verse 165, “Those who love Your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.” The Psalmist also points out his motivation for obeying God’s Word in verse 167. He obeyed God’s Word because he LOVED God’s Word. There is no telling what God will do in your life in 2024 and beyond…IF you learn to LOVE GOD’S WORD!
