We are sending a team to Haiti in 2020. Click the button below to stay up to date on meetings and to receive more information.
Haiti is the poorest country in our hemisphere with an unemployment rate fluctuating from 60-80%. Today, 2.1 million people live in food insecurity. 81,600 children under five are acutely malnourished; 20,000 of these suffer from severe acute malnutrition and are 9 times more likely to die than non-malnourished children.
By partnering with Convoy of Hope, who works with over 300 schools and orphanages to feed over 90,000 children every day we are able to advance their mission and ultimately see lives changed in one of the most hopeless places on earth.
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27
We are partnering with Convoy of Hope, a faith-based, nonprofit organization with a driving passion to feed the world through children’s feeding initiatives, community outreaches and disaster response. Convoy has a strong presence in Haiti and they go above and beyond to make sure that we are safe. They organize all travel, lodging and food to make sure that we are able to effectively serve people without worrying about the safety of our team.
The trip is for people ages 16 and up. There have been exceptions made for students who are traveling with their parents.
We will be determining the specifics of our trip as we get closer depending on the makeup of our team and what Convoy of Hope determines would be most helpful to our site. We will most likely be doing children’s ministry in partnership with the school and local church while also doing some construction work to improve their facilities and better equip them to continue reaching the local community.
